warm embrace crochet blanket

Image
I know how to crochet: I just prefer to knit. This is a prime example. You change what's going on nearly every round - so have to be near your pattern. Either you have paper that you can misplace, or you need some kind of electronic support, and a way to prop it all up so you can see it while you work. https://pippinpoppycock.com/2021/02/09/a-warm-embrace-new-crochet-pattern/ yarn is pale blue acrylic leftover from Becca's magic scarf stopped when I ended the skein of yarn 2nd picture is from source website

Cat tower

Image
My cat had started clawing doorframes - over several doors. Ben suggested I get him a cat tower. We researched. Meanwhile, I patched the scratches, and I intend to get around to painting them. I read online that cats hate the smell of Vicks Vaporub. So I smeared the door frames with it, and it works! Meanwhile, Jerry ordered me one of the towers I had looked at. I received it and set it up Sat Sept 23 The supplied items included 16 bolts about an inch and a half, and ONE single bolt about 3/8 of an inch shorter. I proceeded to install that one bolt on the wrong place, remove several bolts to find the one, and then do it all over AGAIN! But eventually, I got it (The instructions were fine, detailed, with pictures - totally operator error.) I sprinkled it with catnip. Yesterday, for the first time EVER, my cat came to me when I called him. He sniffed the tower, rubbed his cheek on it. I picked him up and put him on it, and he immediately jumped down. But today, he was sitting on the win

avocado and beige

Image
Most of the nine-patches were done when they were donated to the library quilt group - along with cut squares and small bits of fabric background. I added a few small pieces, and sewed until I ran out of green fabric. - about 54" square

Scrubbies

Image
Can't find the pattern -These are made up of 15-stitch wedges - six or seven - but you can't see the pattern in this yarn. Also not pleasant to knit with. One skein makes about 2 1/2 scrubbies. Like them to wash dishes, with, though....

Fractured lines

Image
Saw a quilt picture - drew it, figured out how to make it, started cutting from what was around my cutting area, and this resulted: The batik with the pale green background almost in the center, and also on the left lower edge, is from the border/backing for my Celtic Solstice - still (Still!) not quilted. The Rust with cream feathery leaves (top folding over the back of the couch) is remnants of a dress that I loved, and wore to my son's high school graduation, (in 1999?) The borders are from a piece that just appeared - I don't know from where - and was only about 23" long. There was just exactly enough for five 4"WOF cuts, leaving only two 4"squares (and tiny offcuts). So I used up that piece. I don't know the name of this pattern, as I just copied it from a picture
